I don't think those replays were on the OWRL website when it was still alive. You can always try contacting Krutch or germanpio, as they might have them on their personal archive but it seems like a long shot. I think your best shot is probably Josh, unless he has no back-up of spdo Database left.
There are plenty of mprs in this thread, you should be able to recover quite a few from that... If you need one layout in particular, ask me and I might be able to find it from my own mpr stash, who knows.
To be honest AS7R was always going to be one of the more difficult tracks for this due to the big speed difference in fast corners. Also the esses are quite awkward with traffic no matter the classes.
I think that merging demo and S2 servers on the list was a terrible idea personally. It's pretty hard to see what's going on in S2 with so many demo servers crowding the list. S2 hosts with a single-digit number of connections(pretty much anyone but cargame, TC and a couple drift servers...?) can get bumped pretty far on the server list, making it very hard for them to grow. It's not bringing anything for S2 users, and not even a good S2 advert for the demo players, as it shows there is actually much more activity on demo.
Of course you can filter out demo cars as Whiskey said, but you're blocking all the S2 hosts using demo cars(more than you think), so this is not a practical solution.
I don't think it feels particulary light or strong? Feels just right, I don't know.
I think it might have something to do with the way FFB is simulated in LFS, with other sims like RBR or iR I also find the wheel to be "lighter" at low speeds.
Problem is LFS AI are very boring and predictable on vanilla tracks. To make things more interesting you should have used tracks with ramps and other hazards, maybe have shorter races too. UnknownMaster21 used to have this kind of AI races on his server and it was very fun.
Supension damage didn't look so bad but it completely ruined the car's handling, lost 2-3 seconds a lap during the last 4 laps. Didn't understand what happened until the end of the race too, thought the tyres had gotten too cold and had given up all of a sudden. Was lucky that Flame got problems too so I could hold on to 1st.
Thanks to Rony for the race, was fun to drive the FO8 on KY3 again.
I haven't used tweak in like 5 years, so I can't help you, sorry
If you're interested, you can find the NASCAR Experiment specs here. It was really great for KY1 as far as I can recall, big lifts at T1 and T3, plenty of power in between. That said the FZR has a lot of downforce, lower center of gravity, and a very different weight distribution, so it will handle differently, and it'll need a lot more power(maybe around 1000-1500hp?) for braking at T1 and 3.
Not 100% sure about what i wrote below, but still going to post it since there is no one else to answer:
Yea, I'm pretty sure it's possible(I think all you have to do is to turn on the "modified" sertting on your server), but not without gigonormous amount of lag(people running with different tweak settings causes cars to jerk all other the place between the moments the server receives the correct car position info every few seconds), which combined with the huge speed would inevitably cause enormous carnage.
Also, LFS used to auto-reset cars once they reached an arbitrary speed near 700kph, I'm not sure if that's still the case though.
That said it's an interesting idea and i'm not sure if it has ever been tried, but it would be better suited for a time trial event I think.
I think you can probably figure it out yourself LFSTweak is quite instinctive, I'd suggest some trial-and-error type test runs to find out the best formula. Play with the power, weight, tyre width, etc.
For online playing, AFAIK(once again, not 100% sure) all you have to do is run the server with the right tweak on, and it will automatically kick out people who either don't have a tweak on, or have the wrong one.
On a side note I think Bob Smith's NASCAR Experiment provided some of the best oval racing I've seen on LFS(870hp XRT with slicks), but since it's stuck on 0.5X you might have trouble getting people to play it.
Button control rate depends on the car you're using I think, it's better to run lower values on high-powered RWDs like the FO8 so you don't end up spinning on corner exit(or locking up the brakes). But you can run higher values on low-power cars like the XFG so you have faster throttle and braking response. As an all around setting I belive I used to have something between 2.00 and 4.00 when I was on mouse, but I was just being really conservative.
I don't know about steer center reduction, I think it's more of a personal preference kind of thing, I used to be at 0.00 or close to it.
Yea, UM21 and I tried to host something but without much luck
Anyone feels like hosting a server on S1H7? There's not a single one available right now unfortunately. Would be fun to have an S1 event or meeting some day.
